Tips to reduce risk of cancer

Cancer is a disease that will fear by almost everyone. A good medical care is not the treatment itself. It is about prevention of the disease before it occurs and for the disease to be detected early enough for a medical treatment to be effective (or to be more effective). Here, I’ll give a few tips how to prevent cancer.

1) Avoid any tobacco products – cigarettes, cigars, etc.
2) Maintain a healthy weight – eat well balanced diet and maintain balance calorie
3) Have enough exercise – at least 3 times per week
4) Prevent too much sun exposure – 10 minutes of sun exposure is good for vitamin D supplement
5) Avoid excessive alcohol intake – the best is totally avoid alcohol
6) Practice safe sex – avoid random sex and use condoms appropriately

If by any chance you have a family history of cancer in the family (which is unavoidable), the next thing you have to do is frequently check yourself for the risk of cancer. Early detection is important so we can treat early. It means you have good chance of recovery.

My rule is simple. Anything that is too much or too little is usually not good. Take good care of yourself or no one will. Have a nice day.

Calm

Being physically healthy is meaningless if we are mentally and spiritually ill. Calm is one aspect of health that many of us fail to master. I’ve read a little book of calm and feel like sharing some of the tips with others.

START 10 MINUTES EARLY

Start every journey 10 minutes early. Not only will you avoid the stress of haste, but if all goes well, you’ll have 10 minutes to rest before next engagement.

WORRY WHEN THE TIME COMES

Most worries are future based. They revolve around things that in most cases will never happen. Concentrate on the present and the future will take care of itself.

STEAL 30 SECONDS

When you’re tense, go somewhere quiet – and take 30 seconds to gather your thoughts, and work out how you’re going to become calm. They could be the most useful 30 seconds in your day.

SEEK THE BEST IN EVERYTHING

Make a practice of looking for the best in people and situation. You’ll find that simple approach induces optimism and positivity – both of which lead to calm.

PRETEND YOU’RE HUMAN

Leave it to others to be perfect, to be wonderful. Be content with what you are – you’ll feel much more relaxed as a result.

JETTISON THE PAST

There is seldom any rational reason for having regrets about past deeds or events. The fact is the past does not exist in any way other than your own memory. When you recognize this lack of reality, you can feel calmer.

DISREGARD SMALL ISSUE

The most important skill in staying calm is not to lose sleep over small issues. The second most important skill is to be able to view all issues as small issues.

CLEAR OUT THE CLUTTER

Physical disarray adds to the tension of life. Clear the clutter is an orderly way to calm.

PAUSE BETWEEN CHANGES

There’s always a temptation to lump all your life changes into one big masochistic event. Do your stress levels a favor and take on changes one at a time.

SELECT YOUR COMPANY WELL

As harsh as it may sound, mixing with highly stressed people will make you feel stressed. On the other hand, mixing with calm people – even for the briefest period – will leave you feeling calm.
