Dupuytren’s contracture is a condition where there is fixed deformity of the hand. The patient’s fingers are bent and usually can’t be fully straightened. This is due to the thickening and shrinking of the layer of connective tissue under the skin of the palm. The thickening layer causes the fingers to bend in to the palms.
