Mnemonic for rheumatic fever
Revised Jones Criteria is used as a guidance for the diagnosis of rheumatic fever.
Major criteria = CASES
C = Carditis
A = Arthritis (migratory)
S = Subcutaneous nodule
E = Erythema nodosum
S = Sydenham’s chorea
Minor criteria = 4PA
P = Pyrexia
P = Prolonged PR interval
P = Past history or rheumatic fever
P = Positive (raised) ESR and CRP
A = Arthralgia
