I was wondering if one of the symptoms of rheumatism is the swelling and soreness of the leg joints after eating something fatty. My friends boyfriend could barely walk everytime he eats something fat. Thanks.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune inflammatory disease. It is associated with both genetic and environmental factors. There is limited studies done involving dietary as the cause of arthritis, however, the few that I have found noted that protein and red meat may increase the risk of inflammatory polyarthritis.
