Advantages of breastfeeding
Believe it or not, breastfeeding has a lot of advantages. Some people might think that breast feeding is difficult, painful, embarrasing… but that is not the whole truth.
- Help to build babies immunisation system – the babies are usually healthier because breastmilk contains variety of antibodies that will help them to fight the infections. The other interesting part is, the mother’s body can actually responds to any bacteria or viruses that is present in the baby’s saliva. It will then produce the specific antibody that will help to fight the bacteria or viruses. I can’t find ay formula milk that can duplicate this process.
- Breastmilk is a perfect formula for the babies. Researchs have been done showed breastmilk contains change each day from the very first day the baby is born. God has created such a wonderful thing that it can’t be challenged by anything in the world. Can you imagine if you have to change the milk formula each and every single day just to fulfil your baby’s need? And it is not even close to breastmilk…

- Help to protect baby from type one diabetes mellitus if you breastfeed 6 months on a strecth. There was one study said that if the baby is exposed to cow’s milk at age less than 4 months will increase the risk 1.5 for the baby to develop this disease.
- Breastmilk will protect the premature babies from infections and high blood pressure later when they are teenagers.
- Breastfeeding may reduce the risk of sudden infants death syndrome (SIDS). There is no conclusive evidence to support this. However, it is proven that breastmilk will protect the baby from having respiartory and gastrointestinal infections that play important role in SIDS.
- You can save some money.. and probably you can keep aside the money for your babies’ education later in their life.
- You help to protect the environment. Breastmilk is ready made. No preservatives. No plastic or container is needed (only if you express your breast milk and keep it in a fridge).
- If you are a boss and you think that allowing you staff to go breastfeed is a waste of time, then you are wrong. You actually have more benefit if your staff is breastfeeding their babies. Because they will later need less time to go to clinic because breastfeeding babies are overall more healthy that non breastfeeding babies.
These are only some benefits. There are a lot more. Just think this way, god has created this special gift for you to give to your baby. Study has shown that breastmilk contents are differenet daily since the day your baby is born. And the milk is suitable for your baby , especially on that particular day. Can you imagine any milk formula that can come close to breast milk? I don’t think so.
